In the beginning there were books. In those days, people actually had to leave their homes and go to a library or bookstore. These stores were filled with knowledge, as well as countless other books that would tell you all about different worlds and histories. Ones that told wonderful stories about people who have gone before us, who have walked this earth long before we were born. Sometimes these tales affected us very deeply and made the world seem a little less lonely or just a bit more colourful then it was before... Today we live in a modern world where everything is so easy to find. Knowledge is literally at our fingertips. We don't really have to go anywhere to find a good story anymore, because they're all around us. In video shops, on the television, and even sometimes, if we're really lucky, they will come right to us. These stories that we see today are almost never printed in books or magazines anymore. Somehow, that's just not how it's done anymore. Though the world has changed drastically over the years and things have changed with it as well... Today we live in a world where magic is real and witches and wizards can be found living next door to Muggles like you and me. In a world where their lives are made difficult because of the prejudices that they can't seem to shake. In a world where even the police need to work with wizards, and where everybody knows someone who is a wizard. In a world where young children get more power from stories then from their parents, and in which families are torn apart by these very stories... The story of Harry Potter began when he was a baby. His parents were killed by the most vicious of Dark wizards known as Lord Voldemort. Harry survived an incredible ordeal, and shortly after coming home to his relatives Dursley's house on Privet Drive. He was left there for his own good, and over the years the Dursley's kept him as protected as they could. Harry could never find out anything about his parents or his past because those memories were hidden from him. The main reason for this was so that no one would know about who Harry really was. He didn't know he was a wizard. He didn't know he had a destiny...

Harry's life changed dramatically when he got his first letter from Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft and Wizardry saying that he had been accepted there to learn how to be a wizard. Harry then spent the rest of the summer learning how to do magic and getting used to all of his new equipment and clothing. In August, Harry was set off to school, at the end of a long, hot summer day. While in the train, he spotted a figure in a long black cloak sitting in a window seat in the compartment across from him. This mysterious person had his or her back turned towards Harry and he or she was smoking a pipe. Surprisingly enough though, when the person turned round it really was Professor Remus Lupin from class. When he finally got to Hogwarts, Lupin claimed that there were some things that would make it easier for him to teach by acting as an assistant professor. He also told Harry that he would be protected if Voldemort came back so they could all live happily ever after...
